Currently I use both internal decoder and PC software for decoding and keyboard for sending.įrom: On Behalf Of Dan YO3IDN Sent: Thursday, Janu1:32 PM To: Subject: Re: CW Decoding I 'm also using PC software (CW get) and found it very useful for receiving, but I can't seem to make it send, it is either keying with no sidetone or generating sidetone via USB soundcard but no keying. This way I have already learned few letters / usual phrases that I recognize wit my own ear/brain, which I think it is a big step forward into learning CW. I managed to have several QSO's and I don't know CW :) For sending I use a USB keyboard. Very precise tuning required (use SNAP!) and if the signal is good sometimes it decodes well. In settings I keep the level for decoder at 32000, AGC for decoding ON and Goertzel block size at 80 or so (I don't have the mcHF in front of me now).

I use sidetone 750 Hz, BW 300-750Hz, AGC LON (200) and I play with AGC level to get the best level for the red LED to light exactly with the received tone. Hi, I have also fiddle alot with CW decoding and lately I get good decoding only in certain conditions, I think is more depending of the quality of the signal and also the quality of keying at the other end.
